Self-service scales
The self-service scales from Pesa are calibrated multi-interval scales, consisting of a weighing platform and a terminal. They enable customers with post to independently weigh and hand in letters and parcels while doing their daily shopping. The way they are operated via the menu-controlled terminal is extremely simple. Payment is made at the checkout together with the rest of the shopping.

This system is used for weighing ceramic catalyst bodies with many capillaries and a precious metal coating, e.g. platinum. They have diameters of between approximately 150 mm and 450 mm, and weigh between 200 g and approximately 45 kg. Since precious metal is extremely expensive, the scales must possess a very high weighing accuracy, and this is obtained by using two scales arranged one above the other.
